Dutton, Ontario Overview

Dutton, Ontario, is a community within the Township of Dutton/Dunwich in Elgin County. It is located 30 km southwest of St. Thomas.

The Dutton/Dunwich municipality was formed in 1998 when the Village of Dutton amalgamated with the Township of Dunwich. Highway 401 runs between the two, as well as two rail lines.

Originally called Bennettville, the community grew around Dutton Station on the Canada Southern Railway, built in 1872.
