Gershome, Hamilton Real Estate For Sale
Like the rest of the Hamilton market, Real Estate in East Hamilton is heating up! This is due in part to much of the development planned to come to Hamilton East in the next few years. The most exciting development, a new GO station located at the north end of the Centennial Parkway (Highway 20), means big things for East Hamilton commuters looking for convenient access to the GTA. At the end of 2019, Hamilton East had an average sale price of $410,000, but the specific region that contains Gershome and the neighbourhoods south of Queenston Road had a slightly higher average price of $420,000. Gershome is an entirely residential area. The neighbourhood is mostly suburban style streets with modestly sized detached properties. The exceptions are a few townhouses along King Street, a small commercial area with a gas station, and a new high-rise condo building under construction in the northwestern corner of the neighbourhood.
Living in Gershome, Hamilton, Ontario
With the Red Hill Creek forested area to the west and the green Niagara Escarpment to the south, Gershome is pretty well sheltered by nature. While there is less green space to the north and east of the neighbourhood, Gershome has two very convenient roads instead! King Street runs between the Red Hill Valley Parkway to the west and the Centennial Parkway (Highway 20) to the east, both connecting to the Queen Elizabeth Way in the north. On the east end of the neighbourhood, the Centennial Parkway is a key convenience for commuters and residents alike as it runs along beside several large shopping areas to the north before feeding into the QEW. The neighbourhood park, Father Sean O’Sullivan Memorial Park, has a playground, field space for sports, walking paths, and a basketball court.
