Flamborough is a former town in southern Ontario on the Niagara Escarpment. These days, the community of 42,655 people is a part of the city of Hamilton following an amalgamation in 2001. Flamborough is best known for preserving its identity and heritage despite being a part of the Greater Hamilton Area. Flamborough is unique amongst Hamilton area communities because it has its own flag and coat of arms. In 2011, the flag made its debut alongside a coat of arms with the motto “United We Thrive”. The flag flies to this day over important heritage sites throughout the community.

Real Estate for Sale in Flamborough Ontario

Prior to its amalgamation with the City of Hamilton, Flamborough was a fairly large municipality. The large township northwest of Hamilton was originally made up of the village of Waterdown and several smaller communities in the area. Residents of Flamborough benefit from being centrally located between Kitchener to the north, Burlington to the east, and Hamilton in the southeast. A lot of the Flamborough area is still agricultural land and settlements like Waterdown are home to most of Flamborough’s population density.

Real Estate figures for Flamborough show a slight increase in activity between 2018 and 2019. Average prices in Flamborough are comparable to other communities in the area like Dundas and Ancaster, but it does fall behind in number of sales. The average sale price of a residential property in Flamborough was nearly $770,000 by the end of 2019, which is higher than the regional average for both Burlington and Hamilton. Despite the high average, there are more affordable detached properties in rural areas of Flamborough and also new condo options in the more urban centres.
