Exeter, Ontario Overview
Exeter, Ontario, is a community within the municipality of South Huron. It is located about 40 km north of London.
Founded between London and Stratford, the historic town of Exeter is Ontario’s southern gateway to the west coast. The community loves its nickname of “Home of the White Squirrel,” due to the presence of some of the critters.
Exeter was founded in 1832 and, by 1853, had grown into a community of 300. The settlements north and south of the Ausable River merged to form the Village of Exeter.
After a connection to the railway service in the 1870s, the community began growing. Today, Exeter is a town of over 4,700 people.

Exeter has a fantastic historic downtown where you can get to know the unique architecture through a self-guided heritage tour.
