Cornwall, Ontario lies 100km southwest of Montreal on the St. Lawrence River, just below Ottawa. It has a population of 46,589 (based on the 2016 census). 

The centrepiece of Cornwall was the Domtar pulp and paper factory, which closed down in 2006. Cornwall was a manufacturing hub for many years, with many factories still employing a large segment of the population. In addition, health care and social assistance make up the bulk of other jobs in the area, along with retail and service industries.

Cornwall is home to St. Lawrence College and a satellite campus for the University of Ottawa. It is also home to many heritage sites, making for an illustrious and historic downtown.
