Cornwall, Ontario lies 100km southwest of Montreal on the St. Lawrence River, just below Ottawa. It has a population of 46,589 (based on the 2016 census). 

The centrepiece of Cornwall was the Domtar pulp and paper factory, which closed down in 2006. Cornwall was a manufacturing hub for many years, with many factories still employing a large segment of the population. Cornwall is home to St. Lawrence College and a satellite campus for the University of Ottawa. It is also home to many heritage sites, making for an illustrious and historic downtown.
