Blenheim is a community found in the Chatham-Kent municipality in Southwestern Ontario. This community specifically is found in the Southeastern corner of the municipality, very close to the waters of Lake Erie. Blenheim has four schools within its boundaries and those schools are drawn from the Lambton Kent District School Board (LKDSB) and the St. Clair Catholic District School Board. In the LKDSB, students attend either W.J. Baird Public School or Harwich-Raleigh Public School for elementary, then Blenheim District High School for secondary grades. In the Catholic Board, students attend St. Anne Catholic School for the elementary years. Additional programs are offered in other cities of the municipality as well.
Blenheim is known for its fun traditions and attractions. Most famous is the Blenheim Cherry Fest, a multi-day celebration in the Summer recognizing the integral berry patches and orchards around the community. Cherry Fest features live music, food tents, a midway, and cherry-themed competitions like the “Pit Spit” Championship. Other local attractions include the RM Classic Car Exhibit, nearby Golf courses, and local flavours and restaurants.
For those who are seeking an active lifestyle, Blenheim community spaces and other nearby stops in the municipality have offerings in spades. The municipality is home to over forty-four trails, with the Be-Fit Trail and the Flook Trail located in Blenheim. By going a little way out of town, residents can enjoy access to the villages, beaches, and stunning provincial parks along the shores of Lake Erie.
